Study on Quaternary Ammonium Compounds Resistance among Staphylococcus spp in Disinfected Public Environment

2010
Objective To investigate the quaternary ammonium compounds resistance and the resistant genes among Staphylococcus spp isolated from disinfectant environment. Methods Twenty-six Staphylococcus spp were collected from hospital disinfectant environment. The genes of qacA/B, smr, qacG,qacH and qacEΔ1 contained by all the isolates were amplified by PCR. Results Fifteen of the 26 isolates were found to be 50 g/ml by MIC. Nine isolates contained the qacA/B, and 1 isolate contained the smr gene. No qacG,qacH and qacEΔ1 was detected. Conclusion The disinfect resistance of Staphylococcu spp isolated from hospital disinfectant environment is markedly high. Resistance monitoring should be strengthened, and the rational use of disinfect should be emphasized.
