Gesundheitsförderung - ein aktuelles Thema für Raumplanung und Gesundheitswesen. Einführung

Liveable and thus healthy cities are a central component of sustainable spatial development. Urban health is linked to many current discussions on various social and political roles, which are first briefly assessed. An inter- and transdisciplinary working group of the ARL has dealt with different perspectives on concepts and their understandings, with current topics and planning levels, and with processes of urban development, and aimed to scrutinise the interface between spatial planning and health sciences and practices. This volume contains the results of three years of the working group on health-promoting urban regions for a readership from planning and public health in both practice and academia. The contributions were mainly written in cooperation between scientists and practitioners from the different disciplines and supplemented by additional scientific expertise.
