Bending Fracture Behavior of W_f/Zr Based Amorphous Composites

2006
Bending fracture behaviors of W fiber reinforced W_f/Zr based amorphous matrix composites were studied by using Instron testing machine and SEM compared with that of pure amorphous alloys. The results show that the two materials have different fracture behaviors:crack origins at the maximum stress for bulk amorphous alloys, and extends to inner in the form of radiation, the bending fracture strength is 2900MPa,while stress concentrates at the interfaces between matrix and W_f and spreads all around and across W_f,the bending fractuer strength is 2000MPa.
