Thermoluminescence investigations on xY2O3 (60-x)P2O5·40SiO2 vitroceramics.

Abstract Thermoluminescence properties of x Y 2 O 3 ·(60− x )P 2 O 5 ·40SiO 2 vitroceramic compounds doped with x Y 2 O 3 at various concentrations (0≤ x ≤30 mol%) were studied. Compounds with reduced Y 2 O 3 concentration showed unsatisfactory dosimetric properties, while the vitroceramics composed of 20Y 2 O 3 ·40P 2 O 5 ·40SiO 2 and 30Y 2 O 3 ·30P 2 O 5 ·40SiO 2 exhibited bright signals, linear dose response and minimum detectable doses of 16 mGy and 4 mGy, respectively. Moreover, 30 mol% Y 2 O 3 doped vitroceramic exhibited good repeatability, acceptable batch homogeneity and poor fading signal, features that are recommending this material for dosimetry purposes.
