O CORAL DA UNIATI COMO INSTRUMENTO DE INCLUSÃO E ACESSIBILIDADE DO IDOSO NO CONTEXTO SOCIOCULTURAL

The objective of the present work is to present the UniATI - UniEVANGELICA Choir, as an instrument for inclusion and accessibility of the elderly in the sociocultural context. Open University of the Third Age (UniATI) is a project aimed at people over 60 years and aims to integrate the elderly population into different learning spaces, either in the classroom or in open environments, with weekly meetings. UniATI - UniEVANGELICA offers several workshops with socio-cultural diversities, in which the students are available in each one, according to the vacancies available and the skillfulness of their abilities. In the meantime, such workshops facilitate the accessibility of this public. The choir is one of the workshops offered, made up of approximately 34 seniors from UniATI. The Song Choral Workshop is held every Monday and Wednesday, in which the elderly man in addition to improving his phonation, due to the improvement of musical strings, helps in the control of breathing, treatment for depression, and psychomotor activities. Thus, these elderly participants in the classes of the choir performed the musical presentation at the 5th Cultural Show of the Dentistry Course, and the perception of the elevation of self-esteem in these elderly people, in relation to the presentation to other audiences, is of great importance. In this context, the enthusiasm of the workshop participant and the rationale for their cultural and social importance are perceptible. The activity of the choir allows to work both the physical aspect and the experience of the elderly in the cultural aspect, improving their quality of life, making friends, relating, exchanging knowledge and above all with joy of living.
