Mathematics on display: an Italian experience

On several occasions over the last few years mathematics has been the subject of exhibitions and events. To underline the increasing attention towards mathematics, especially on the part of the general public, we analyse the experience and the success of the exhibition MaTeinItaly. Matematici alla scoperta del futuro (“MaTeinItaly. Mathematicians in search of the future”) held at the Triennale di Milano from 13 September to 23 November 2014, and organised by the Mateinitaly association for the communication of science.
