A Comparison Review on Comb–Needle Model for Random Wireless Sensor Networks

2019
In this paper, the purpose of random deployment wireless sensor network (WSN) is presented. Then compared the extended comb–needle model (ECNM) and cluster-based ECNM (CECNM) for random deployment of WSN is explained with illustrations. The mathematical analysis of ECNM and cluster-based ECNM are explained in terms of communication and storage overhead is carried out. The simulation environment is presented and concluded with the performance evaluation of ECNM and CECNM in terms of parameters such as communication cost, energy consumption, throughput, delay, packets delivered, and packet loss. The communication cost of the ECNM model is O(n) where n = √N. N denotes the total number of sensor nodes in the network, and the communication cost of the CECNM model is O(n/Nc).
