Door lighting and warning system

It is disclosed a lighting device for a vehicle. The apparatus comprises a closure frame which is configured for engaging in an opening which is formed by a body of the vehicle. A light source is arranged near an edge of the closure frame, so that a light emission is projected from the light source through a gap between the closure frame and the car body. The emission is projected through the gap in response to the fact that the closing frame is arranged in a gap wide open position.
