Improvement of Modified Trapezoidal Modulation using space vector topology

This paper focuses on vector control using Modified Trapezoidal Modulation (MTM). We propose to generate MTM waves from space vectors. The previous creation methods had fixed amplitude and phase. That is, The MTM can only be used with Pulse Amplitude Modulation (PAM) control. The new method we propose can change the amplitude and phase. That is, MTM can be done with Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) control. We have verified that the dq-axis current and the rotation speed can be controlled by the proposed method. This result was confirmed by circuit simulation software, PSIM.
