EVALUATION OF POLICIES FOR ORGAN TRANSPLANTATION IN TURKEY

Organ transplantation has become one of the fastest growing branches of medicine in recent years. However, there is an imbalance between organ demand and supply throughout the world. Turkey is among the countries that have difficulty in providing the organ necessary for organ transplantation. There are various legal, religious, educational, administrative and psychological problems in front of organ procurement. In addition, the quality of life, life expectancy and treatment costs of the patients reveals the necessity of policy development and implementation in organ transplantation and donation. In this study, sample country policies related to the subject are examined and organ transplantation policies are evaluated in Turkey and recommendations are given .
