Fenestration of the extra-cranial vertebral artery.

Abstract Fenestration of the extracranial vertebral artery was demonstrated angiographically in a 26-year-old Japanese male. The embryological basis of this vascular anomaly is discussed. It is possible that the association of fenestration and arterial occlusions found in this patient was the result of clot formation at the site of fenestration.
