Treatment of Metacarpal and Pbalanx Fractures with Miniplate

Objective: To treat fractures of metacarpal and phalanx with miniplates. Methods: Incision and anatomic reduction were adopted in 13 cases of 14 fresh fractures, which were fixed with mini-plates. Results: All the fractures were approached anatomic reduction. Hands function of 13 cases recovered to normai, no complications occurred. Conclusion: Mini-plate was small, thin and stable, functional exercises might be applied instantlv after internai fixation, the function of adjacent joints was exce!lent, which should be a ideal internai fixation method to treat the hand fractures.
