Radionuclides And Heavy Metals Pollution Of The Bottom Sediments Of The Reservoir At Dzierzno Duze Near The Upper Silesia Region, Poland

2007
The Dzierzno Duze lake is big artificial reservoir on Klodnica river which goes through the Silesia region, the most industrial area in Poland. The mine waters and other industrial pollution were collected in the sediments in this lake for years. There are plan to give people of the region clean and beautiful lake for leisure activities, so, the global chemical, biological and radiological measurements were done for the reservoir. These samples have been taken from water, bottom sediments (7 points). The concentration of radionuclides was measured by high sensitive gamma spectrometry technique with semiconductor detector HPGe type. The heavy metals were evaluated by ASA method.
