High-level waste management code maintenance and quality assurance

The US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has the responsibility of licensing sites for future disposal of commercial high-level radioactive waste. Sandia National Laboratories is assisting the NRC in this effort by developing and demonstrating performance assessment methodologies for evaluating high-level radioactive waste repositories in deep geologic formations. These methodologies include the development and application of computer programs. A computer software maintenance and quality assurance plan has been developed as a part of this effort. The plan and its implementation at Sandia are described in this report. 32 refs.
