Transitions in 146Gd following the (α, 2n) reaction on 144Sm
1971
Abstract Targets of 144 Sm were bombarded with α-particles of energy from 19.8 to 31.6 MeV. Conversion electron and λ-emission from these targets were studied under bombardment by means of a six-gap β-spectrometer and Ge(Li) detectors. Several transitions observed are intrepreted as transitions from excited states in 146 Gd, for which previously no experimental data have been published. Evidence is found of the existence of a 2 + state at 1581 keV, a 0 + state at 2179 keV, a 4 + state at 2660 keV and, with less confidence, of states at 2984, 3555, 3754 and 4065 keV.
