X-ray investigation of the niobium hydrogen phase diagram

The two-phase coexistence of solid-solution H in Nb was measured by loading the Nb with a critical H concentration. It was found that the residual stresses in the Nb--H system are composed of the stresses due to the dislocations and the coherency stresses due to inhomogeneous distribution of H. Results are presented graphically. (JRD)
