Special features of the orientational stretching of profiled polypropylene films

Data are given on the orientational stretching of profiled polypropylene film. It is shown that redistribution of the polymer mass from the thicker part into the thiner part occurs during stretching of the film. As a result the redistribution of polymer mass on deformation of the film increases the degree of orientational stretching, giving material having high strength and elasticity.
