The protein spectrum of cervical secretions during the course of pregnancy

1964
Abstract Proteins dissolved in cervical mucus have been studied throughout pregnancy using immunoelectrophoresis. It was found that the protein spectrum of cervical secretions changes with pregnancy and with time during pregnancy. The maximal changes were apparent between 6 and 9 weeks after conception and shortly before term. Possible causes of these changes are discussed.
