Determination of Available Species of As, Se and Sb in Soils by HG-AFS

2004
A method for extracting the available species of As, Se and Sb in soil samples by 0.50 mol/L (NaHCO_(3)) and quantifying by HG-AFS has been developed. The results show that 0.50 mol/L NaHCO_(3) is effective extractant for the extraction of available species of As, Se and Sb from soil samples. The extracted As,Se and Sb are then determined by HG-AFS with detection limits of 0.006 mg/kg for As, 0.001 mg/kg for Se and 0.002 mg/kg for Sb. The technique has been successfully applied to the determination of the available species of these elements in soil samples (geochemistry survey samples) from Wuhan and Nanjing zones with precision of As,Se,Sb of RSD (n=12) ≤10.15%.
