Verwertung von Abfallstoffen in der Wirbelschicht am Beispiel der 110 MW Reststoffverwertungsanlage RVL Leipzig

In Lenzing, Upper Austria, AE/LLB have installed a 110 MWth CFB boiler for burning waste fuels. Main fuels are packing material and RDF, additional fuels are rejects of paper mills, wood waste and sewage sludge, but it also possible to operate the plant with 100% bituminous coal. The plant faces a wide range of heating values of the various fuels from 6.5 up to 31 MJ/kg. The boiler is fully integrated into an existing industrial power plant. This paper gives an overview of this new boiler and also tells about some experiences made during the furst year of operation.
