Simplifying fact retrieval through intermediary systems. II
1990
The problems of fact retrieval from modern distributed and heterogenous fact databases were analyzed, and intermediary systems for distributed fact retrieval were proposed as the solution, in Part I of the article. In this, Part II of the article, several possible approaches, representation formalisms and methods, including object-oriented database systems, data model integration, recursive query languages, semantic networks and the frame representation, abstract data types, and information resource dictionaries, are discussed and evaluated for solving the problems of intermediary systems and implementing them
