Stabilized solid dispersion of adefovir dipivoxil and a method for preparation thereof

PURPOSE: A stabilized solid dispersion of adefovir dipivoxil is provided to improve stability of adefovir dipivoxil of solid dispersion form by adsorbing or dispersing solution to sugar alcohol. CONSTITUTION: An amorphous adefovir dipivoxil solid dispersion contains adefovir dipivoxil, water soluble polymer, and sugar alcohol. The water soluble polymer is selected from hydroxyl methyl cellulose, polyvinyl pyrrolidone, hydroxyl propyl cellulose, polyethylene glycol, polyvinyl alcohol, and vinylpyrrolidone. The sugar alcohol is selected from lactose, glucose, mannitol, sorbitol, and isomalt. A method for preparing amorphous adefovir dipivoxil solid dispersion comprises: a step of dissolving adefovir dipivoxil, water soluble polymer in organic solvent; and a step of adsorb or disperse the solution in sugar alcohol.
