Optimization design of high-voltage electrode contour line

This paper analyzes the nature of High-voltage gas discharge switch design, and converts the electrode contour design problem into a curve optimization problem. The authors use the electrical strength non-uniform factor as the criterion of this optimization. Meanwhile, this paper adopts the particle swarm optimal algorithm as the computation strategy. For this optimization problem is subjected to the Laplace equation, the author uses the matlab finite element tool box to solve the partial differential equation, in order to acquiring the electrical field distribution between the electrodes area. Furthermore, the electrical field computation result is used to adjust and optimize the design of the switch electrode contour. Finally, the calculation results show that the optimized electrode contour leads to a much smaller electrical strength uniform factor than that of two kinds of electrode contours used generally, which means this kind of optimal method for designing high-voltage electrode contour is viable.
