Possible Solar Modulation of Average Temperature in the Contiguous United States during 1895–2018

2021
With monthly average temperature series in the contiguous United States during the period from January 1895 to July 2018, the author uses wavelet analysis to investigate possible connection between the average temperature and solar activity. The results show obvious fluctuation characteristics in the temperature series. The modulation action from solar activity plays an important role in the oscillation of the contiguous United States average temperature, and there is a possible association existing in the temperature series and solar activity on decade time scales.
