{2-[(2,5-Dimethyl-phen-yl)imino-methyl]pyridine-κN,N'}diiodidozinc(II).

In the mol­ecule of the title compound, [ZnI2(C14H14N2)], the Zn atom is four-coordinated in a distorted tetra­hedral geometry by two N atoms of the Schiff base ligand and by two I atoms. The benzene and pyridine rings are oriented at a dihedral angle of 70.75 (3)°. The five-membered ring has an envelope conformation. There is a weak π–π inter­action between benzene rings, with a centroid-to-centroid distance of 3.975 (4) A.
