STATE OF THE ART TECHNOLOGY. PART 1: GENERAL OVERVIEW

This paper provides a general overview and several examples of specific sensors, some of which are already deployed on collision warning systems (CWS) and others which might be modified for that purpose. Also investigated in depth are a few sensors which are considered most promising for a next generation CWS.
