Regioselective Benzoylation of Glycopyranosides by Benzoyl Chloride in the Presence of MoO2(acac)2.

The MoO2(acac)2-catalyzed regioselective benzoylation of glycopyranosides leads to a variety of 3-benzoylpyranosides, e.g. compounds (III) and (V).
