On line multielement determination of coal slurries using a direct current plasma: Technical report, October 1987-December 1987

The addition of 1% PEO (polyethylene oxide) to the coal slurry results in 100% recovery for 5 determinations using DCP-AES. Particle sizes of up to 20 um can be used to obtain unity recovery. Unlike other spectrometric techniques to determine S, this is the first report of obtaining unity recovery of S for particles of this size. The result of using PEO will enable DCP-AES to function as a on-line sensor for S in coal. 3 figs.
