자동차 외판 특징선의 관능 평가를 위한 시편 제작방법 연구

2015
A feature line is the surface geometry which has a very small curvature radius rather than the adjacent surfaces and is a visually noticeable creased line on automotive outer panels. The feature lines play important roles to make a good impression of a car adding volumetric feeling of the form, and smoothing overall impression. Even if the manufacturing quality of the feature line is important, it is difficult to make the same shape with the designed one due to the springback in sheet metal forming. Quantitative manufacturing allowance is necessary for the quality control of the feature lines. The current study presents the methods of making the samples which will be used in a visual experiment for finding a quantitative manufacturing allowance of the feature line. Five different methods of making the shape were proposed, and the measurement and inspection methods for the samples were also presented. The results show that plunge machining is the most accurate way to make the same shape with the designed one, and wrapping the machined surface with sheet film is an appropriate way to emulate the similar roughness and visual texture with the painted outer panels of a car.
