Inelastic response of a non-seismically designed eleven story reinforced concrete building

1983
Abstract An analytical study is described, in which the predicted response of a non-seismically designed eleven story reinforced concrete building subjected to mechanically induced, large amplitude shaking, is correlated with actual inelastic response measured from full scale tests. The “best” analytical model is then used to predict the response of the structure subjected to earthquake induced ground motion. Conclusions are drawn about the ability of such structures to withstand earthquakes of varying magnitude.
