The correlation between cirrhosis and helicobacter pylori infection in patients with HB

2009
Objective: To explore the effect of helicobacter pylori infection on liver function in patients with cirrhosis HB. Methods: Liver function (serum total bilirubin, AFP and blood ammonia) were detected in 73 patients with cirrhosis, and the gastroscopy and Hp detection were applied to the patients at the same time, and the patients were classified according to hepatic function. The patients were divided into two groups based on Hp detected: Hp(+) group and Hp(-) group. The cor -relation of liver function was analyzed between Hp(+) and Hp(-) group. Results: There were no differences between Hp(+) group and Hp (-) group of serum total bilirubin, AFP and blood ammonia. While AFP and blood ammonia of Hp (+) group was significantly higher than that of Hp (-) group in patients with the C grade in Child-pugh. Conclusion: Hp infection is probably one reason of AFP and blood ammonia increased in patients with cirrhosis, the effects of AFP and blood ammonia in the cirrhosis with helicobacter pylori infection are closed correlated to the classification of hepatic function.
