Some aspects on nutritional values and preliminary phytochemistry of Mexican wild chilli Chile Piquín [(Capsicum annuum var. aviculare Dierb.) (D. & E.)]

2003 
The fruit of chile piquin (CP) has lipid 10%, 14% protein and high ash contents. Preliminary studies show the presence of anthraquinones, alkaloids, saponins, steroids and triterpenes, leucoanthocyanins. The fruit of chile piquin contains high lipid (10%) and protein (14%) indicating high nutritional value.
