The propagation method mainly utilizes the branches of the Brachychiton rupestris, and comprises the following steps: selecting a time for taking the branches, selecting healthy cutting branches and a cultivating container, preparing cultivating soil, potting, putting the cultivated seedlings in a sunny natural lighting environment, and watering with a proper amount of water; after 3 months, a part of root system can grow out from bottom holes of the cultivating pot; and by measuring, the trunk part of the seedlings after being cut for two years can be thickened by 8mm. Brachychiton rupestris is a famous succulent plant ornamental tree species in the world, and has beautiful leaves, little damage by disease and insect, slow growth and ornamental value, and the diameter at breast height of a lumber tree species is greater than 1m. In the place of origin, the tree age for a Brachychiton rupestris seed to grow into a tree with the diameter at breast height greater than 1m is 50 years, so far, only seed propagation is adopted. The cutting propagation method improves the growth speed of the Brachychiton rupestris, shortens the seedling raising time, overcomes the problem of long growth period of the seedling, and enables the precious ornamental tree species to propagate quickly.
