[μ‐N,N'‐Bis(2‐pyridylethyl)oxamide]bis[acetatocopper(II)]

The structure of the title compound, [Cu 2 (CH 3 COO) 2 -(C 16 H 16 N 4 O 2 )], was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction and revealed binuclear complex molecules which lie about inversion centers. The Cu II atom has square-pyramidal coordination, with an additional nonbonded Cu...O contact of 2.818(4) A, which helps the maintenance of the crystal packing.
