The invention relates to a portable electronic device with electronic distance measurement, which comprises a casing body, a tape, an encoder and a controller, wherein the casing body is provided with a display screen and an opening; one end of the tape is exposed at the opening for a user to pull-out; the encoder is coupled with the tape; the encoder generates a measuring signal corresponding tothe pulled-out length of the tape; and the controller receives and converts the measuring signal into size data, and displays the size data on the display screen for the user to interpret. By utilizing a photographic module to directly photograph the object, the invention can directly mark size on the image after photographing, or directly record the size data measured of the tape. In addition, for the users who do not like use software to record, the tape can be directly pulled out by a simple and easy function, and the relevant sizes can be measured by the convenient and easy function. Accordingly, not only the user can measure the sizes of the objects at any time and at any place, but also the practicality of the portable electronic device is greatly enhanced.
