Determinants of Restenosis After Coronary Angioplasty

1987
The restenosis rate after successful percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA) has been reported in the literature to be anywhere from 12% [5] up to 33.6% [4]. Such a large range suggests that many factors are probably involved in the development of restenosis. Differences in selection of patients, techniques used, or the angiographer’s experience probably all play a role.
