Azaheteroaromatic ethers as carbonyl bioisosteres. Synthesis and evaluation of a novel class of 5-HT3 receptor antagonists

Abstract Quinolin-2-yl and benzothiazol-2-yl derivatives of 3-tropane and 3-quinuclidine are novel 5-HT 3 receptor antagonists. The heteroaromatic groups behave as bioisosteres of the carbonyl groups found in standard 5-HT 3 receptor antagonists.
