Acute Toxicity and Aquatic Hazard Associated with Discharged Formation Water

1981
The primary objectives of the investigation described in this chapter were to evaluate acute toxicity of formation water discharged from platform 296-B of the Buccaneer Field (Figure 1) and assess potential aquatic hazard related to the discharged water. The aquatic hazard evaluations presented address just toxicological aspects of hazard. Additional factors must be considered in a comprehensive hazard assessment. These factors include the potential for bioaccumulation of constituents of discharged formation water and impact of the discharged water on other uses of the ocean.
