Intervertebral diskitis in children

: Treatment of 16 children aged from 1.5 through 15 years with intervertebral diskitis was analyzed: the cervical part of the spine--in 9 children, thoracic part--in 3 children, lumbar--in 2 and lumbar-sacral--in 2 children. The clinical picture of diskites with localization in different parts of the spine is described, with the syndromes characteristic of this disease. High informative value of MRT is stressed. Conservative methods of treatment (antibiotics, immobilization) are thought to be the main methods for treatment of diskites.
