Students HOTS in PjBL based STEM learning in biology classroom: An experimental analysis

21st Century skills are skills that all students must possess. In the 21st century students must be HOTS so that later they will be competitive to face the challenges that exist in the future. To create a good learning atmosphere, it is necessary to integrate the STEM approach into the PjBL learning model. In this study the indicators for measuring HOTS refer to Marzano’s taxonomy The number of samples in this research were 32 students of eleventh-grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Malang in the academic year 2019/2020. This research uses a pre-experimental research design with one group pre-test post- test design method. In the hypothesis test calculation results the significance value <0.05 so that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. So it can be concluded that there is an influence of the use of PjBL integrated STEM on students’ HOTS. These results are consistent with qualitative data obtained from reflective student essays and student interview results.
