Penile Fracture in a Patient Presenting with Groin Pain

A 45-year-old man presented to the Emergency Department (ED) complaining of penile swelling and pain. One hour before presentation, the patient was having sexual intercourse with his partner when his partner suddenly moved in an awkward direction. The patient experienced sudden pain followed immediately by penile swelling. He was able to void without difficulty and had no hematuria. On examination, blood pressure was 133/79 mm Hg, pulse rate was 92 beats/min, and temperature was 36.1°C (97.1°F). The penis was diffusely swollen and ecchymotic.
