PHOTONEUTRON ACTIVATION ANALYSIS APPLIED FOR ENVIRONMENTAL RESEARCHES

2011
An instrumental highly sensitive photon activation method based on the (γ, n) reactions and following gamma-ray spectrometry analysis for the multielement determination from several environmental media is developed. The environmental samples and standards were irradiated simultaneously for 4 hours with 24 MeV bremsstrahlung produced by the MT-25 linear electron accelerator of the Flerov Laboratory for Nuclear Reactions of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Researches. The analytical results for up to 32 elements in the analyzed samples are presented.
