Schwangerschaftskonfliktgesetz@@@Laws of obstetric conflict: Zur Neuregelung zum 01.01.2010@@@New regulations as from 01.01.2010

2010
The new German laws on avoidance of obstetric conflict (SchKG) are designed to impose obligations on physicians to give extensive explanation and consultation when pathological fetal findings have been diagnosed so that pregnant women in stress and conflict situations after the 12 th week of pregnancy can receive medical and psychosocial assistance, to ensure protection of life to the unborn child and to avoid delayed termination of pregnancy. This affects the physician making the diagnosis (§ 2a para 1 SchKG) and the so-called indications physician in the run-up to termination of pregnancy (§ 2a para 2 SchKG).
