The relevance of the study due to the age-old tragedy of the bio-cultural duality of human nature which reaches its peak in the STR. With one hand he reaches the heights of intelligence, on the other, with the same vertex falls into the abyss of instincts. The Central object of research is street theatre V. Polunin as the most democratic form of carnival freedom in Russia. The author sees art street theatre V. Polunin for Russia is that in this materialized form utopian ideas of M. Bakhtin about the party on earth: carnival in terms of borders between art and festive reality, theatre and life. The carnival incarnated in the forms of street theatre experiment "Mummers"of the 90. V. Polunin, with all the peculiarities of the Russian mentality of laughter, combining the theatricality and the carnivalesque in the clown together attitude.
