Analysis of Fiber-Optic Coil SHUPE Effect for Different Fiber Coil Winding Structure and Winding Processes Optimization

SHUPE effect is an important factor affect the Fiber-Optic Gyroscope (FOG) precision and temperature drift. As its critical sensing component, the fiber optic coil (FOC) must be highly reciprocity accomplished. SHUPE effect of six FOC structures were analyzed by three-dimensional finite element model simulation under multiple loading modes. Simulation results show that axial symmetry crossing structure shows optimal robustness and rapid convergence. The skeleton and cross winding technology were improved to solve the difficult realization problems of crossing winding. The optimized skeleton can ensure the FOC axial symmetry and the hold the cross points fixed. Cross-inverse realized by skeleton overturning winding effectively avoids complex operation of right-left supply spools interchange. The research results provide theoretical basement in the structural improvement, optimal design and dynamic modification for FOC preparation system to guarantee high-precision FOG.
