Environmental Aspects of Sustainable Mobility: Thematic Research Summary

This report discusses the environmental aspects of sustainable transportation in Europe, and the ongoing research being undertaken in these areas. Three subthemes are introduced and expanded upon. These subthemes are environmental impact assessment, mitigation measures, and development of forms of transportation that are environmentally friendly. Passenger and freight transportation are discussed, and highway and public transit modes are considered.
