Transient Photoacoustic Monitoring of Pulsed Laser Drilling

A noncontact transient photoacoustic technique has been developed to monitor a pulse laser drilling process. Application to the drilling of holes in a composite epoxyglass material is presented. A novel application of combined pyroelectric and piezoelectric sensing in this geometry is also discussed. Text
