Dalla stereoscopia a Instagram. Origini e destino socio-mediale della fotografia

2018
In a Weberian genealogical perspective, Oliver Wendell Holmes’ works, written between 1859 and 1863, open the interpretation of the present up, supporting a reading of the roots of photography and of its destiny of digital convergence. Twenty years after the first Italian translation of his writings, Holmes allows us to look with a stereoscopic and tridimensional gaze at the present of digital photography in a social environment, in a context of living made of images and sharing. A context where the image amply determines reality.
