Paper [1949]: Higher Approximations in the external field for the Problem of Vacuum Polarization

In view of current status of theoretical particle physics, this paper is especially interesting as it “smells” SUPERSYMMETRY. Kallen shows the cancellation of divergences in the fourth-order in the coupling constant when the number of bosonic and fermionic degrees of freedom are equal.
