Pituitary Surgery: Nursing Implications

Pituitary surgery is performed to address a variety of pathologies. Surgical technique will vary based upon surgeon preference, tumor location, and any involvement of surrounding structures. Nursing care of the patient undergoing pituitary surgery is founded in a comprehensive understanding of pituitary physiology and pathophysiology.
